What is STAR?

• S - Situation: Set the scene and give the necessary details of your example.
• T - Task: Describe what your responsibility was in that situation.
• A - Action: Explain exactly what steps you took to address it.
• R - Result: Share what outcomes your actions achieved.

Example Answer

Question: "Tell me about a time you had to manage a tight deadline."

Situation: "In my final year project, we had to build a full-stack app in 4 weeks." Task: "I was responsible for the backend API and database integration." Action: "I realized we were falling behind, so I organized daily stand-ups to track progress and prioritized critical features over nice-to-haves." Result: "We not only finished on time but also received the 'Best Project' award from our department."
