Body Language in Video Interviews
In a remote world, video interviews are the norm. Here is how to project confidence through the screen.
1. Eye Contact
Look at the camera lens, not the screen. This simulates eye contact with the interviewer. It feels weird at first, but it makes a huge difference.
2. Posture
Sit up straight. Leaning back can look disinterested, while hunching forward looks nervous. Keep your shoulders relaxed.
3. Hand Gestures
Use your hands naturally to emphasize points, but keep them within the frame. Avoid touching your face or hair.
4. The Smile
A genuine smile is your best asset. It makes you appear friendly and approachable. Smile when you introduce yourself and when wrapping up.
